Faux Motherhood, Family Drama, and Halloween

I was really debating whether or not to make an account here because I already have a myspace and a facebook account; however, my friend Megan talked me into getting it. I am really jealous of her layout because it is very elegant and I have noooo idea how to make mine anything but boring. Oh well.

I am watching my niece Katie today because of A LOT of drama going on in Chris's family. I'll explain later. I don't really want to get into that now. Katie is 10 months old and is quite a character! She crawls, she pulls up on things, and she can even say "Kitty Kat"! This week, however, she has had a stomach bug. :[ She has been throwing up and has had diarrhea. I feel like I have learned a lot this week though. I mean, it's easy to take care of a baby/child when he or she is happy and in good health, but it is a whole different matter, when he or she is sick!!! For one, I was totally not used to changing poopy diapers, much less, runny poopy diapers, and then having to deal with the fussing, and the runny nose, and getting up every hour of the night with her, and rocking/singing her to sleep when all I wanted to do was sleep myself. This has DEFINITELY been a learning experience, and I am so glad that I am able to experience the good and the bad. I think this will prepare me even more for being a mom.

Today is Halloween, and tonight Chris and I are going to the Harvest Festival thing at my parents' church. Not sure if we are gonna take Katie with us, or if Hope will be available to pick her up this afternoon.

Lastly, please say a little prayer for Chris's family. They are going through a lot right now. Thanks a bunch!
